Dani was the Director and Curator of Cúirt International Festival of Literature Galway, from October 2010 to September 2016. While at the festival, she has programmed writers such as: Sharon Olds, Irvine Welsh, Seamus Heaney, Joshua Ferris, David Mitchell, Geoff Dyar and many more. Dani programmes fiction, poetry, non-fiction, youth events and outreach activities.
Dani introduced a dedicated Outreach Programme to Cúirt in her inaugural year. As part of this programme Cúirt engages with libraries and local communities to realise events that are accessible and free of charge. The outreach programme has included: Kitchen Readings (performances by poets and musicians in the setting of people’s homes), Read Me I’m Yours, an initiative where books by visiting writers are left around the city with an invitation to the finder to read the book.
Dani introduced Cúirt Labs to the festival: a conference for young people. This ambitious programme features a curated cycle of events for primary and secondary school students involving workshops and talks from writers, illustrators, musicians, artists, and other experts. The programme features over 16 practitioners annually and has now developed an outreach strand to schools
